Just finished rewatching the series, and I agree with all three. The Gilda Radner episode is another great example of “classic” Muppet Show in my opinion 🙂

Agreed. Even if this aired in 82, it feels like the last hurrah of the 70s Muppets, transitioning into 80s Muppets that would be solidified in the very 80s Muppets Take Manhattan. Between the projects, I always considered “The Muppets Go to the Movies” as the real series finale to The Muppet Show.

“His Democratic challenger […] spoke up against the ICE partnership, putting the issue at the center of his campaign.” NO WAY! I’m sure every other D politician will see this and realize how easy it is to position yourself against a wildly unpopular thing, and follow suit!

This is why I’m optimistic about this new special/pilot. Seth Rogan seems to be invested in making this happen, similar to how Jason Segel campaigned for years to make the 2011 movie happen. Also I feel like so many actors in their circles would be eager to be a guest on a show they all grew up with

My wife and I have done a fair amount of traveling and I never had any airline preferences. I kinda like Delta’s check in, but usually it’s whatever is the best deal. Then we flew Southwest in October. Now my preference is “ANYTHING BUT SOUTHWEST”.

Pete’s my favorite of the Mickey crew, and he’s perfectly utilized here. Even when I’m watching other versions I always think “It’s YOURS Ebeneezer! Bahahaha!”

I miss the older Gonzo puppets. The head/face sculpt on the modern one since around Muppets Haunted Mansion is so bulky and less expressive, despite Dave Goelz still being the GOAT.

Always thought it was weird that the EDITED version changed the Joker’s original death to remove the child gun violence post-Columbine, to death by electrocution, Mark Hamill delivering a blood curdling scream while the other characters see the lights flickering. Way more gruesome than a gunshot.

Personally her deep involvement with her creation combined with her very vocal bigotry have just forever tainted the brand for me. Even ignoring the morality of “don’t give money to the hate monger”, I just associate the HP property with her and have no desire to engage with the franchise anymore.
