It took years and years and a lot of work by a lot of people to establish and grow the soybean trade with China. That market was absolutely destroyed in a few weeks. China is buying zero beans from America right now. They bought $12.6 billion worth last year, about a quarter of all US production.

We watched Night and Fog for in a college class on WWII documentaries. When the film ended the professor turned on the lights and just walked out without saying a word. The rest of us did the same. Some people were openly weeping as we filed out. I went home and sat alone thinking for a long time.
