So ridiculous that they should not have to follow the same rules as all other law enforcement officers in this country. Next thing you know Republicans are going to start saying all local police officers should wear masks and break into people's houses without warrants or cause.

I'm a poll worker and I am NOT going to want to work the polls if this happens. I live in MAGA country and a whole lot of these angry white rural men are not gonna have a passport or birth certificate. Poll workers will probably be assaulted

A lot of white men - especially older white men in rural areas - don't have a passport or a birth certificate. Definitely doesn't hurt everyone equally, but it's not good news for anyone

I'm also a Virginian who votes Democratic and doesn't love this. It feels undemocratic in the short-term, but it may help save our democracy in the long-term. If there's a referendum then I have no choice but to vote for it if I don't want to be ruled indefinitely by fascist authoritarians.

I hate voting to approve gerrymandering, but voting for this is now the only rational choice for us Democratic Virginians. Red states started it and now blue states have to finish it. At least Democratic policies are actually better for rural Virginians, even if they don't realize it.

I would hate to have to choose between these 2 in a primary, not because of "electability", but because I like them both so much. I have no clue who would be the most effective in the Senate.
