A brilliant sky of blue and the woods beyond my window are still in full leaf. How can this be Thanksgiving week when nature stands confused in my backyard?

Much as I regret the invasion of Chinese privet in my backyard, its seeds are enjoyed by flocks of robins, and the occasional cardinal, at this time of year.
