GIMP still has less features and a worse UI than Photoshop did when GIMP first started development.

Seriously, compare the latest GIMP to Photoshop CS2, which came out in 2005. Night and day difference.

So essentially a reversion to the Web 1.0 era?

Meant to say something earlier, but he was a great humanitarian. He helped with disaster relief after Hurricane Helene, and did more to help the victims than the gov't did.

Also, he has a Truck championship, an O'Reilly's championship, and 19 Cup wins to his name.

But, still. THE. WII. CAR.

Same. Hi-MD was the closest we got, but it was too little, too late, especially against the monolith that was the iPod.

Just checked, you're right. It was the longest streak. Now Kingdom Hearts will break it. So Emile's actually right here.

Wasn't Bowser's Inside Story a nonstop streak not counting the bonus video?

And iirc this is the last championship under this playoff format.

Plus, with streaming services, you have the possibility of your favorite music being taken away from you at any moment. You don't get that with CDs. You have the disc, and, as long as it doesn't get disc rot or heavily scratched to where it won't play, you own it practically forever.

Plus, CDs are dirt cheap nowadays. People don't want them anymore since Spotify exists. They're selling them for peanuts on Discogs and eBay. That's where I got the majority of mine from. I have been hearing rumors of a CD comeback, though... yet I've been collecting for over a decade now!

And as for the snobs that say "vinyl is better!" vinyl only has two advantages: the tactile experience of putting the stylus on the record, and the distortions naturally occurring from the cutting process/stylus which can be perceived as "warmth." In all other aspects, CDs absolutely wreck vinyl.

CDs are awesome! It's a happy medium of being fully digital, and being a dingus that spins. (Quoted from DankPods, go watch his stuff!)

Buying a CD also gives you a free lossless rip (FLAC in my case) to use to convert to whatever format you can use on your phone or other device (I use AAC myself).

Some really early CDs (especially those from CBS Records, such as Journey's Frontiers and others) have what's called "pre-emphasis." If played on modern devices, they can sound way too bright and harsh.

Fortunately, there is a fix, per the linked page:

Case in point, Journey's 1983 album "Frontiers." While the 2006 version that's on the streaming services sounds enticing, especially since it has four bonus tracks, it's brickwalled to absolute smithereens. I feel the original '80s CD is better to my ears. However...

Sometimes there are some weaknesses (ex. the original CD of Zeppelin IV has some tape dropouts on some songs, notably "Rock and Roll," and they can come from later-generation tapes, especially the super early CDs), but they're not brickwalled to death like the modern versions are.

Pro tip: if you collect CDs like I do, avoid modern "remasters," with rare exceptions (such as The Beatles' 2009 remasters, of which I have the full box set of). Get the original '80s/'90s pressings if you can. They can sound fantastic with modern equipment.
