At my work the primary web product was called "webapi-test" for 6 or 7 years up until a couple of years ago, named by a Dev long since moved on for the poc he made to demo to management

I think we'd have to agree to disagree there, I don't think it's useless to everyone, and as long as people can reasonably decide on whether the risk is personally worth it for them I'm not fussed. No arguments on them having safety concerns unaddressed, but this seems separate?

Ah yeah, that's fair. No arguments that BlueSky hasn't spent a fair amount of time shooting off their own toes.
When I think about the few companies I trust it's the ones that are very forthright about why they exist, what they're doing, and especially how they're doing business (funding etc).

Ah yeah good plan. I just had a thought to, was this on a bill or read from the meter? If it's the bill it might be their estimate rather than actual usage
