Hello - I'm back again. A new 🧵every day covering the important aspects of the Russia-Ukraine war (without the gratuitous gore)

Today it's Day 1323 of Moscow's illegal invasion as it continues Putin's dream to reunite the states of the Soviet Union, whether they like it or not (spoiler: they DON'T)

At least two soldiers have been killed by Ukraine in a missile attack on a sports centre in Belgorod region.

10 others are said to be injured in Maslova Pristan.
A woman in her 20s also died.
It's not known if soldiers were permanently stationed there - Russia is trying to remove traces of military

The factory/warehouse of the soldering plant in Novosibirsk looks to have almost completely burned down.

There was no air raid warning and no drones reported in the area.

So what happened?
Sabotage? Karma? Operation Spiderweb 3.0?

A company which lists Russia's MoD as one of its main customers, is burning down in Novosibirsk.

A warehouse of the Soldering Plant caught fire for 'unknown reasons' - this is where they solder weapons and communications equipment for the military.

But also Russia removed many troops for "exercises" in Belarus and reshuffled elsewhere.

Look at Dobropillia. 2 months today Russian made the surge. Ukraine still hasn't regained Kucheriv Yar despite being isolated for weeks.

Ukr didn't predict RU pushing to Liman + Sviatohirsk. Poor prep.

One big problem is echo chambers. Everyone wants to be positive. Everyone wants to be the first to say how Ukraine will do this and do that, and how the tide has turned.

Russia has taken less ground recently - part of that is improved Ukraine leadership and successful strikes in the RU rear

Russia says it's captured Novohryhorivka village in Zaporizhzhia region, but just a couple of kilometres from the Dnipropetrovsk regional border.

While Gen. Syrskyi keeps bragging about an odd small win here & there, a lot of ground is being lost and Liman is near catastrophe.

Ukraine has probably hit a pumping station in the Rostov region of Russia.

Exilenova+ spotted a fire on NASA's FIRMS satellite pics, in the area of the "Yekaterinovskaya Pumping Station (PPS)". They say it's likely at the electrical substation.

Today is the third anniversary of Ukraine's most famous strike on the illegal Crimea Bridge.

Well worth reliving the moment!

Ukraine's ambassador to🇬🇧, General Zaluzhnyi, is reported to have already started offering allies places on the parliamentary list in the upcoming elections.

But Intelligence Online could have been used to undermine Zelenskyy's biggest rival by trying to make him seem arrogant.

Kryvyi Rih was also subject to a fierce attack last night, with two people now known to be injured.

First, aerial bombs hit Zelenodolsk, then a drone swarm attack on Novopilska.

Russia is also quietly attacking Ukraine's food supplies and producers.

The Yofi hummus factory is the latest to be targeted. Yofi has a 70% market share, but now production is suspended after a missile strike. The workers were saved, but not the equipment.

In another strike in Chernihiv region, a road repair vehicle was targeted by drones.

This was in the village of Chornyy Rih. The driver, aged 56, received multiple shrapnel wounds to his limbs and abdomen plus a broken arm.

Another car was also burned out.

Meanwhile, in neighbouring Chernihiv, an endless stream of problems.

The constant attacks from over the border inflicted damage to an oil depot, a substation (more power cuts) and a freight train as the Governor reported:

Russia attacked a fire station overnight.

The State Emergency department in Semenivka, Chernihiv region was hit, another war crime.

The roof of the administrative building caught fire.

Thankfully, everyone was in shelter during the attack - no one was injured, the equipment was undamaged.

Russia continued its attack on Ukraine's energy and transport sectors overnight.

The nationalised power company DTEK says one of its Thermal Power Plants was seriously damaged overnight and two workers have been injured.

After the first week of October, the number of invaders being killed/severely wounded/captured, is well up on the previous two months. But the daily mean remains just under 1,000.

Not much to report elsewhere.
twmcltd.bsky.social
Much better air defence stats for Ukraine overnight.

In total 183 drones were fired by Russia by 9am, seven of which were still flying at 9am.

Of the remaining 176, Ukraine shot down or suppressed 154 = 87.5% success.
The 22 hits occurred in 11 locations.

Day 1322 of this terrible war.
7 October 2025, the second anniversary of appalling events in Israel + the 73rd birthday of a war criminal in Moscow.

Also the 19th anniversary of Putin having journalist Anna Politkovskaya murdered for reporting inconvenient facts about his wars.

Closing Tuesday's thread now. I'm on tennis comms quite soon, so need at least an hour's kip!

There are still drones flying, in Ukraine they're along the east & frontline.
A few still in Russia too, but actually far fewer reports of damage despite quite a large number launched

About 10-12 attack drones swarmed on Odesa an hour agi. 6 UAVs attacked the port of Pivdenny.

However I think air defence coped with them all - no news of any serious damage.
twmcltd.bsky.social
I still didn't find out.
I think there have been at least 3 big hits we haven't even found out about yet. That one, plus Yelets last night and a couple in Crimea on military camps.

As we begin a new week, it's the 1,321st Daily Thread - never missed one yet. So let's dive-in..

As I wrote to the other comment,
Had Putin admitted his secret lovers and children, and the nepotism, it would not be an issue - there would be no need to publish details.
But Russian taxpayers deserve to know the truth as much of their money is being spent on this family.
