The monarch in the photo has wrinkled wings, which makes me wonder if it has OE, a spore that infected butterflies can deposit on milkweed that is then eaten by caterpillars. When the caterpillar pupates and the butterfly eventually ecloses, its wings are wrinkled, often making it unable to fly.

My grandparent’s oldest child died at age 5 from scratching a mosquito bite and getting a staph infection. My pharmacist grandfather had no cure.

One day I gave someone a like bc their dog had died, and I felt for them. Then I was in the “my dog just died” algorithm and kept getting all these random tweets about people’s dogs dying, and they all make me well up, and I just had to get out of the cycle of rainbow bridge grief.
