I got to meet Gerard Baker when we were both involved in a press event for the Ken Burn PBS documentary series about national parks. I remember laughing with him until it hurt. I also remember listening to him until it hurt. He's a master at using "interpretation" to confront and find truth.
‘The Rushmore story is hard to tell’: how an Indigenous park leader revealed the monument’s dark side
As memorial marks 100 years, Gerard Baker, park’s Native American ex-superintendent believes if Rushmore’s story is told the right way, ‘people are going to be leaving pissed’

Two Newfies are clean again, if only briefly. Today was their first visit to the groomer since June. I fully expect that they'll sneak into the river by the end of the day.

Duh-Oh. This was completely predictable, yes? ... "Canceling the 2025 (Federal Employee Viewpoint Survey) means OPM will not be collecting or publishing governmentwide data on federal employees’ views this year of their jobs, colleagues, agency leaders or overall workplaces."
After months of postponing, OPM opts to fully cancel 2025 FEVS
The cancellation comes after OPM indefinitely delayed FEVS earlier this year, due to the Trump administration’s “urgent” changes for federal employees.

I was recently "consolidated" from NPS to the Office of the Secretary. Not sure NPS has standing to advocate for me anymore. Opposition messaging is now more about loss of services than people.

"There are also dozens of categories across the Office of the Secretary not included in a previous list."

As kids, Tim and I got to attend a couple of games in the renowned 1975 World Series between the Cincinnati Reds & Boston Red Sox. 50 years on, I've switched sides. On Monday, we traveled together to Fenway to witness one player hit both an inside-the-park home run & a grand slam. Sox prevail 13-6.

All of this in the name of authoritarian political theater? What good is this actually doing anyone? ... The audio is just chilling.
The NYPD and ICE mistakenly arrested a Chilean woman who is a permanent resident in New York City and left her poor frightened 12 year old daughter on the street alone.

She was released approximately six hours later.

This is the fearful state of America.
