Then, them murderbirbs already know where you live...

I suggest you have lots of raw meat handy. The birbs can be bribed if you can convince them to taste it.

That's a quest in and of itself, tho.

others & spotting the AI-regurgitated drek.
It was a good decision.
The story is dynamic, the MC is likeable & the stakes are progressively higher, even though we know what the highest of them all is.
All in all, a good read (I'm almost halfway through book 3) & a nice discovery.
Recommended.

characterization, as well as a penchant for exploring language, where AI schlock is repetitive & extremely limited in its descriptions, as well as vocabulary, in its attempt to feign the "author's style "
So, I started with "Apocalypse: Regression" by Charles Dean & R.A. Mejía after trying a couple

with relatable characters & fun/horrifying/thrilling situations.
I was afraid it might've been AI-produced, given the fact there were several other series with the exact same concept, but two persons writing kind of made me more trusting & it paid off.
You can immediately notice nuance, rhythm &

I can begin with the next one; I'm that enthused by the story.
Interestingly enough, one particular series falls within the confines of this subgenre I had steered clear from in the past (#LitRPG) that is a curious combination of Isekai/TimeTravel & it's a surprisingly entertaining, well-built story

Some of these series, I won't go beyond book 1 (not really for me or not connecting or interested in the MC's journey,) yet most are entertaining enough to keep me reading at night before bed or during my graveyard shifts between medical or 911 calls.
Some, I can't wait to finish the current book so

Well, I gotta say I love comics.

Especially daring comics that seek to subvert conventions & try something different with characters people think they know by heart, like "Wonder Woman: Historia" or "Aquaman: Andromeda."

What about you, @remymura.bsky.social?

Music., and as you @falloran13.bsky.social are a #metal fan, I gotta say I do so love Rotting Christ's music.

Upon discovery, it quickly became one of my absolute favorite bands, ever.

Whew!
I almost fell off the soapbox, there.

Now, who's hungry?

I know I am, so here I go to put down the words to buy tomorrow's breakfast.

*Stomach gumbles*

Quiet, you!

Peace, fam. Rest easy and a a great day.

full commitment to quality & honest communication.
As long as CGL is perceived at lacking one or the other, the franchise they've put so much hours, money & effort in with such fierce "indy" determination...

Just won't become a "household' game.

And that's a goddamn shame because #BattleTech rules

notwithstanding.
I almost always assume the best in people & that companies started by fans want to be successful because they are doing what they love & know there are many more like them with whom they can share the enthusiasm & make good out of product of their labor...
But that's to come with a

and that's not judgement; it merely is a statement about the fact how big the pay disparity is between the "big publishing world" & writing for traditional gaming companies, and how some professionals either can't or won't or both ever recognize this because the work they do is the same, audiences

they scrape from the loyal fans' undiscriminating pockets.
I'll even believe they've received quotes from both writers & editors who've priced themselves out of the market because "the franchise's popular & even has several video games based on it out."
I know there are professionals who do this,

is why nobody who's somehow related to the #BattleTech tabletop game hasn't put their foot down & keeps putting up with CGL's inability to do better.
I'm not being generous. I'll grant the company's heads the benefit of doubt & think they're doing the very best they can with have little resources

for their manuscripts in mind; to convince them you're on their side, every single time & that the can do it better when needed.
I know production requires large sums of money upfront.
I know all of this because I've been part of it all, in all capacities with all kinds of results.
What I don't know
January 22, 2025 at 5:28 AM
I don't know & it irks me.
I know how much work goes into writing both fiction & game materials, & how largely underpaid/misunderstood this job is.
I know how many long hours go into doing a thorough editing project & how difficult it's to get the writers to trust you only have their best interests
