What is Abraham 12?

“…That this can happen in the realm of an all-knowing and all-powerful God who desires only good must be a cause of surprise and sorrow to everyone.”

“…But it is even more amazing that with wickedness in full control, virtue not only goes unrewarded, but is trampled underfoot by the wicked and is punished instead of vice….”

Political violence has always had greater support from the Left. The Right used to be largely against political violence. That is what changed. You should expect a greater willingness to accept political violence on this platform.

This jab towards me became a self-inflicted wound.

I agree.

Thank you for providing the Talmudic citation where I can read these discussions. I will reach out to a local rabbi if I have further questions. I believe you do not want to be a part of further conversation, so I will respect what I believe is your wishes.

You have an idea of a person you apply to me without having met me. You assume I want an exacting answer, but I have not made this request. You say I want doctrine, but I until now never used the word. Everyone claimed I was ignorant, I asked to be enlightened, and you all refused.

You know as much about our texts as you claim I know about yours! But, alas, you have closed the door on dialogue.

But when I ask for clarity, I am given contradictory responses. One person has offered to actually explain this to me, which is occurring off this site. You all have come in with your assumptions about my motives and refuse to believe me when I tell you I do not. That is why this is a mob.
September 10, 2025 at 4:11 PM
You bear that burden, since you make the claim. That being said, I feel I’ve walked into an angry mob. I will leave you be.

I guess, then, we must part ways.
September 10, 2025 at 4:02 PM
I can accept what you have said, and it would not change my claim or the validity of my statement.

I would agree that the New Testament contrasts the Pharisees and Christ, thereby making the contrast critical to understanding the text. Secular and academic sources take this same approach when they refer to Jesus as a religious reformer. It wouldn’t be negative to Jewish thought per se though.
September 10, 2025 at 3:51 PM
I am sorry. It is difficult to teach Christianity without highlighting the contrast, which results in many making the association. Christ said the Pharisees are the most righteous people on earth, but even they cannot achieve what God required. It is that last clause where we disagree. Right?
