Today’s Mood: 3. Offseason is off to a bleak start. Semien for Nimmo was justifiable & probably a net positive for the next two years. But seems like we’re back to “relying on some guys to bounce back this season” and “Bullpen on a shoestring” as a roster strategy again this year. Hello 4th place.

Today’s Mood: 9. Relief mostly. I’m sure Schumacher would have had a lot of options on the open market with so many openings. Glad it got done. Don’t think Bochy was the issue, but this is probably the best option we could get to take his place. Now about the roster…

Today’s Mood: 2. Feels like it ought to be a 1 as depressing as this season has been but it was somehow the second best season since ‘16. Still, I think Bochy is gone and the core of the ‘23 team is too. Don’t see how they will build a contender on a reduced budget. Feels like an end.

Today’s Mood: 7. Jack Freakin Leiter. Was honestly worried about his future coming into this year but man did he figure it out. Not sure what they plan to do about the rest of the roster but the top three SP next year are gonna be GOOD.

Today’s Mood. 1. Fitting to revert to form this week. A veteran “professional” roster worked in 23 but this group has run its course. CY will have to get creative to make next year anything other than a repeat. Need 4 guys who hit for avg, put the ball in play and find some life in the dugout.

Today’s Mood: 3. The list of not-overused relievers Bochy can trust gets smaller and smaller. The margin for error was tiny with the regular offensive players in the lineup but it seems impossible with so much of the AAA roster on the field at one time. I like all these guys but it can’t work.
