He is very much Pro Ukraine. One of his first visits was to Ukraine, where he was crying in Boetsja. This was all about unequal risk sharing.

Euroclear is a Belgian-regulated institution.Any forced use or confiscation of Russian assets is legally considered an act of the BE state. That makes BE, not Euroclear, the target for international claims or retaliation. If BE were to lose such cases, it would be legally forced to pay back
December 4, 2025 at 9:15 PM
They can talk, but unless other EU states share the €180 bn legal risk, nothing will move.if Belgium loses a legal case,it could face bankruptcy.Lagarde was vague about whether the construction is solid. The ECB, the Norwegian fund, and several member states have all said no.Action and unity is needed

Self driving car? Tesla is level 2, it's a driving assistant (which still makes a lot mistakes). This is just dangerously creating false expectations
December 4, 2025 at 5:43 PM
They need to be more open about the tax revenue going to Ukr.But that doesn't mean a country like Belgium can afford a 180 billion risk alone.Even Germany and France would not be able to cover such a risk alone. And those countries don't even share how much they have blocked..
Where are the Russian assets? Nobody, except Belgium, wants to say
The debate about issuing a reparations loan to Ukraine has prompted one burning question: Where exactly are Russia's immobilised assets?

A bit weird to speak of "Brussels", as in "The European Commission" does concessions to Belgium, as Brussels is the capital of Belgium.
November 17, 2025 at 3:57 PM
The plan is blocked by the other countries who do not want to share in the risk. A bit like friends of which one has a key of a mobster's house (housekeeper). The friends are like take everything and gave it to the needy. And Belgium is like ok,but than we do this together and take the risks together.
November 13, 2025 at 1:29 PM
They don't block, but they want other countries to share in the risk so not belgium only is responsible for paying back +180 billion if the transfer is found to be illegal. More info in the official eu council speech starting from +/-30 seconds youtu.be/e8I8zquOguE?...

And you decide which opinions are relevant and irrelevant based on what you prefer? and if it goes badly than Belgium, a country with a yearly income tax of 59 billion, needs to repay itself 158 billion? The problem lies not with Belgium, but with the other countries that don't want to co-guarantee.
November 10, 2025 at 9:57 PM
The opinions are, as you can see, very divided. If there is such little risk, than why is there no backing from other countries to guarantee if required? Why should Belgium alone take a 185 billion gamble and not all EU countries for Ukraine together?

""A court order which commands the government to seize the assets of Russia would be illegal under international law and under domestic law, which imports international law," Federico Luco Pasini, Professor of Financial Law at the University of Durham, told Euronews.
www.euronews.com/my-europe/20...
Does international law allow Europe to seize Russian assets?
While Russia has said seizing its assets would amount to 'theft', the question of whether such a move is legal under international law is a thorny one.

This has nothing to do with greed. They transfer the profits to Ukraine and want to transfer the funds themselves probably ilegally, as long as the risk is shared.no other countries want to share the risk.the gov is very much pro Ukraine

plan asks for the funds to be unfrozen so Russia can reimburse Ukraine in a peace agreement, etc. This is therefore also on the other countries that force Belgium to do something but dont want to guarantee it themselves.more info/historical comparisons in eu council speech youtu.be/e8I8zquOguE?...

Belgium is not blocking it, they just request other countries to share in the risk of probably "illegally transferring" 180 billion.belgium would never be able to reimburse this.and they have good reasons to request risk sharing.During ww2 this was not even done, China might enforce it,Trumps peace
November 10, 2025 at 6:03 PM
3. They want to transfer the funds as long as the risk is shared. Now other countries just want Belgium alone to take a 184 billion gamble (something it could never reimburse).something that was not even dared during ww2.more info and historical comparisons can be found in EU council speech

Spreading misinformation is not going to help ukraine.
1.There is no extreme right government, it's a coalition, left, center and right parties. Certainly not extreme right.Even nva and mr are very pro Ukraine
2.The profits on the blocked assets are transferred to Ukraine (even in your article)

With al the russian dronesin Belgium, it will be a relatively safe space to test new unproven technologie (jamming, lasers) against Russian drones.something that might benefit them as well against future attacks
November 9, 2025 at 1:46 PM
They don't refuse at all, they just don't want to carry the risk alone of "illegaly transferring" 180 billion and therefore of having to pay it back.Something they would never be able to do.Here the situation is described in detail for the european council in a very clear way youtu.be/e8I8zquOguE?...

The best scenario was warning russia before that invading Ukraine would be unacceptable and that nato would assist ukraine with air power when under attack, as it is a sovereign nation.the opposite of biden's statements about"minor incursions will not prompt a severe response"

People like you are doing a better job of turning EU member states and their citizens against each other than the Russians could ever do. Instead of working together for the Ukranian cause, other member states are being vilified.

Putin would be proud.
