We also have 2.5 months between election night and inauguration, so time is not a factor if the argument is that it would be too time-prohibitive. We just wouldn't get full results for a number of days, which in our immediate gratification culture would be difficult. But it would be worthwhile.

No, where did I claim that, Mr. Jump to Conclusions? I'm claiming that we hand count AND machine count our elections. We don't "already do that". There's no excuse not to do that, with the importance of our elections and the fact that our elections for federal offices are conducted 51 different ways
