Care to join me in the #MosquitoBucketChallenge?

Mosquito fogging kills everything but mosquitoes; this bucket 🪣does it better, without harming pollinators or people.

Trans Advocacy Day, the Capitol, Austin TX. New unenforceable bathroom rules just went up so the only place trans people feel safe is in the two family restrooms in the basement for the whole complex. Today, both closed due to being smeared with feces.

Much like Janet of 'The Good Place', I continue to be Not A Girl; Neither A Boy, but a Secret Third Thing! Here I am on the Trans Day of Visibility, being whatever I am. Ain't no politician has any right telling me what that is. #TransDayOfVisibility

@johngreensbluesky.bsky.social two anticipated packages with v. different vibes. I think I got the Berry batch. It took me awhile to find the color guide; I'd saved it under "Todos es TB"; I don't speak Spanish.

My take is more in the vein of this Married to the Sea cartoon. It's not aimed at humanity generally, but more it's a cry from one who wants to escape this current point in history/economic system/personal hell". Melodramatic? Maybe, but shit keeps being unprecidented and it's pretty tiring.

All three of these are some good medicine. Take care of each other, have something to run toward and not just away from, and find joy among this, the shitty timeline we didn't ask for but need to help each other through now.

Part of me desperately wants to stay positive, but part of me wants to embrace my neglected Irish heritage and become a banshee.

I'd embrace the Welsh and take out my titties and scream curses, but I'm all out of titties.

Enjoy this photo I took with my Pixel 7 phone by placing it on a flat surface with the camera pointed straight up and taking about a four minute exposure with the Astrophotography setting. This was taken in central Texas (UBarU Dark Sky site near Kerrville) on Dec 30 2024 around 10:30pm.

Yaupon holly (Ilex vomitoria), an evergreen with berries not for eating, but the leaves make a tasty tea that's one of the only native sources of caffiene. And it's growing wild all over the place here.
