“Highly recommend dunking your face in a bowl of cold water, drinking some water to help your body flush the adrenaline and finding something to smell or touch for grounding and avoiding dissociation”

I'll be fine. Just venting/thinking out loud. If I'm even less responsive than usual, this is why.

I don't regret leaving research, because there wasn't a future for me there. Not matter what I was going to go off and do, I'd hit my breaking point. I couldn't take it. This might not be any better, though.

The career I've wanted since I was very young, one that I jumped ship to pursue at significant personal risk, simply does not exist anymore in the way I imagined it. It's going to take a bit for me to come to terms with that and find a way to either cope or move on.
