I got tired of watching them not give a shit, and I think it's only fair to resume work, since they've decided they want to get some points in the standings. So heres a question: Who the fuck were they? I could have sworn for the first time all season, I saw the old Leafs. They went to the dressing room, down 3-0 to the Penguins, looking sad and disconnected, listless and uncaring, as they have all year. It's like the sad sack forgot October ended, and were just abducted and replace by last years version of the Leafs who occasionally gave a damn.

Wow what a way to kick off November. 5-2 over a Flyers team that's excelled this year. Nylander still absent, Robertson still promoted and i gotta tell you, I'm a fan. Looks good. It's hard for me to care when they don't I think they need to restructure how this team works. It may also be time for Auston to move on if this is his level of enthusiasm for this team. The Leafs, in their first road game, looked like they were out of gas after 20 minutes. Good consistent play by the teams 4th line, interrupted by the Lorentz injury was defeated by sloppy play from the other 3 lines. Maccelli is a great middle 6 scoring winger, but he doesn't have that depth necessary to play against the 1st liners of other teams, yet.

A balancing act The Leafs look... balanced. While Matthews and Nylander didn't "light it up", it's hard to not commend Montreal at their building of a competent defense core. Even still, they held it down defensively better than before, and were trusted to shut down the best Montreal had to offer, and delivered. It was a great night for a few guys that needed to have one.

Ahktyamov doesn't need to hear this again, but it might not be his time yet. Hildeby appears ready to go, and none to soon, with Woll announcing a leave of absence to deal with a personal matter. While I still liked our goalie depth, losing Woll puts us 1 more goalie away from him being forced into action. For the first time in a few years, the Leafs didn't sign a veteran 3rd stringer.
