Which ones have you followed? A lot of them have self-verified by using their domains as their handles, such as @cnn.com for CNN, no “verification” feature required!

I'm assuming priority number one right now is keeping up with the insane growth. Once that's no longer a concern then I'm sure they'll work on this stuff
