It’s a bit of a grey area bc at one point & even now anybody can make one for their family 😂. So I'm not sure what our kamon was before that, but on my grandmothers side we have samurai ancestry going back several generations with this Kamon. Serving the Kuwana Clan.

My mom decided to fill me in about family lore randomly one day. It’s assumed we got our Kamon because my great grandfather was a lacquer painter for emperor Hirohito. It used to be a status symbol during their time.

Coincidentally my family’s Kamon is the “Gosan no Kiri” & in some depictions of Toyotomi Hideyoshi he can be seen wearing it. However in game they use the fancier 5-7 pattern of the Paulownia Crest.
