Just for fun, I made a cover page for a poem I wrote four years ago #poetry
Design made with Canva - In the middle is a picture of the sun shining through bare tree branches in a polaroid frame. In the top left corner is a paperclip with a heart shape and in the bottom left corner is a red pencil crayon. The title, on the bottom of the polaroid, is "In the Home Office, Distracted" If you’ve ever had a three-hole punch you know how circles of paper slip out and show up in unexpected places— a small dose of inconvenient confetti. Lately I’ve been punching holes in my daydreams but pieces of them still show up in mundane places. They stick to my clothing— a small dose of inconvenient illusion. I’ve changed the way I evaluate my mental state: it’s less about how many words I type before I write your name (for no reason, just to see it) and more about what I put in its place after I backspace. I am doing okay.

Thin, leafless tree wrapped in Christmas lights, branching off into the sky What is closure? I think the closest I may come is admitting I wanted to be your coat rack I wanted to be your Christmas tree lights I wanted to be the lock on your door but I remain profoundly human. And I could be wrong, but I think every animal feels pain but to ache in this particular way is profoundly human.
