turns out if you go outside and pick a random direction to walk in, you’ll bump into something interesting - like a mystery book shop on a river barge

I’ve tried a handful of Doctor Who podcasts in the past, but “Who Cares?” is the only one I’ve stuck with. I don’t always agree with their opinions, but there’s genuinely great analysis and discussion in every episode. I always come out of it with a greater appreciation for the discussed subject

Lucky Day was really good, but the most unrealistic part was a bunch of people online changing their opinions after seeing the truth.

Also Ruby you really need to stay away from pubs at this point.

One of the most frustrating things about the RTD2 era for me is how the worst parts of it are due to Russell self-imposing limits onto his own imagination

I can’t believe it took the death of a pope to snap me out of this mental slump I’ve been in recently

"This isn't dogma, just my thought: I like to think of hell as being empty. I hope it is."

I’ve thought about this quote nearly every day since I first read it. One of the kindest things I’ve ever seen a religious figure say.

RIP Pope Francis

it kinda sucks that something as important as the Internet Movie Database is owned by Amazon

It’s interesting that RTD gave a much better anti-AI episode unintentionally than in the episode where the villain is literally the “Al Generator”

Wait a second, is this “Will Disney renew Doctor Who?” stuff just meta marketing for the finale??

I've moved through grief a long time ago. since the air came out of everything, watching the clockwork of the machine is the only entertainment that entertains. usually there's some semantic pinion, but who needs it, when you can also just say the opposite of what's in front of you

Growth for the sake of growth is the ideology of a cancer cell.
The Government are not even hiding their dealings anymore.

A mass zoom call this morning with arms companies & oil giants: All in the name of growth.

Regular calls with teachers or nurses? No. Just the people destroying society.

My 2025 reading list.

I did really well with getting back into reading last year, and this year I want to do even better.

I’m not sure if I’ll get through all of them, but I’ve got a great selection regardless, I think. :)

I do not recognise “The Game Awards” as a legitimate awards body. I’ve never seen a ceremony so detrimental to its own art form

just saw a 10 year old youtube comment comparing the solo vocals of the doctor who Doomsday theme to that of a melodic howling Wolf

currently watching The Penguin. Each episode I think “surely that has to be the worst thing someone could do to another person” and then in the next episode he does something so much worse

watched Juror #2 in cinemas today and there were a couple of maybe 12 year old kids at the screening.

when the movie finished, one of them said to the other that it was one of the best movies they’ve ever seen.

Clint is saving the youth.

one good thing to come out of these farmland-owners protests is that a lot more people are now aware of the level of corruption going on in the farming industry

I think a lot about the IP plays of 2017, films like “Blade Runner 2049”, “Logan”, “War for the Planet of the Apes”, or “The Last Jedi”, shows like “Twin Peaks: The Return”, “Legion”, Moffat “Doctor Who”, etc.

Projects that trusted their audience to engage with the past, not just jangling keys.
David Lynch's treatment of nostalgia in Twin Peaks: The Return is so brutal and fantastic. Two people watching a box waiting for Dale Cooper to come back into frame have their faces eaten off.
