We see this between muni and provincial governments at times too tbh, there's this assumption of shared interests/values + interest in collaboration that is just not... well supported

2025 has REALLY been the year of waiting for the shoe to drop... increasingly just want to get it over with tbh

shhhh he's too busy having some kind of awakening to think about that right now

YES so happy this is happening! Tempted to show up just to bear witness to certain councilors' levels of attention/comprehension
December 16, 2025 at 5:56 PM
good thing this is all, like, allegorical... maybe...

obviously I don't know how the math works out but I would rather be paying bridge tolls than have this gap in MSI coverage, even as someone unlikely to need any of those services

we're putting cogswell back the way it was!

my highest hope for the various disruptions/research projects going through council this budget season is for area rates to become a preferred tool for local service delivery

my friend got one of those black and white e-ink screen phones and loves it bc it makes instagram dull enough that you just close it immediately when you're done

I've been historically cynical about the chances of anything changing with the CAP, but seeing it enter the discourse in HRM council (and having people tackle it from different angles like this) does feel like a glimmer of hope.

I do remember listening to that episode and thinking "wow he just totally refused to engage with the idea that there were downsides to this policy, what the fuck"
December 2, 2025 at 5:26 PM
honestly a low effort airhorn-y clip about the sidewalk between Robie and Windsor being reopened might hit even though it's kinda old news now

your best video ever btw
November 7, 2025 at 3:46 AM
it would do fun stuff to the political economy of the province I will say!

I found this video kinda sloppy. He's describing real problems but his typology is all wrong... for one thing, solarpunk isn't an ideology, it's just an aesthetic. It's an easy line to draw A->B but the underlying issue of superficially appealing but ineffective policy solutions is so much broader.

please don't wait for next halloween for this

in recent history SCOTUS has been happy to pretend the admin has completely opposite motivations to their stated aims when making decisions... it's pretty much what happened with the muslim ban, and the rationalization would likely be similar in this case if it even got that far
October 26, 2025 at 3:54 PM
it's really bad, especially now with half the adjacent blocks being construction sites. tbh the poor integration with downtown is a big part of why I'm a commuter rail skeptic even if we could get the ROW
October 24, 2025 at 1:28 AM

October 23, 2025 at 4:53 PM
