Anecdotal as well, but I had something similar happen with my first wife, but having no chill she confronted on the spot. After many false starts and back pedaling, their price difference was driven by pity... for her... being married to someone... who appeared as useless as I did. heh.

Out of data until tomorrow (using hijacked wifi for this bit o'socializing). Had a mice and men sort of day when it came to my plans, but did get to the library to return @sahuntbooks.com's Malus Domestica series and snagged both of @bymattruff.bsky.social's Lovecraft Country books to devour next.

Never got an alert that bsky open for signup, but saw Jim's pinned tweet RE their inactivity there, so came here and went thru the sign-up to deliver the thanks. Local library only had the first book, with waitlist for interlibrary loan, so I had to turn to hoopla. Very happy I did. Very well done.
