That last part I agree with. Hangman fans absolutely got politicked that one especially around Double or Nothing acting like Will Ospreay had no struggle and never loss. Check that win loss category between Hangman and Ospreay last year. Virtually identical.

It had more to do with him wrestling a Josh Barnett style and denying anything. Let’s not act like before All In, Mox didn’t produce stinkers and was not wrestling in the MMA for boring unathletic white guy style. The only thing I asked for was Mox to stop wrestling like Kevin Nash. And he hasn’t.

Kind of wish they brought up that Samoa Joe made Hangman tap out already. That he functionally defeated him so it could highlight that Hangman tapped just so Swerve couldn’t win the title. Hangman is too prideful to admit this and Joe would never admit that someone allowed him to win though…

I did and I think that was the plan until his reception to winning the G1 which is very much due to New Japan’s incompetence. Seems like both companies pivoted as NJPW seems to want to return to Goto.

If they are forreal, they are better off going to DPW, NJPW/Stardom, or NOAH. I am not gatekeeping AEW but a lot of you straddle the line of still being WWE fans still and immediately think it’s a 1 to 1 transition. Some of yall thought Miz was a good signing. Just stop. Please.

I ask this because AEW is at best five hours a week on a good Dynamite Overrun or 3 hour special. This roster is loaded. Even ROH is picking up quality and qualitatively better than before Tony purchased it. If these folks are serious, they are better off hitting the indies or MLW(ha!).

It’s an easy program to run. But Lashley or the HS in general ain’t interested in being booked to look like chumps. So Joe steps in. The only other guy that would make sense is Okada, but Tony wants the Takeshita match to happen first. But note, I’ll throw HS under the bus at any opportunity.

Joe’s an interesting choice because at this point in his career, he isn’t a main event PPV guy. But here is my wild theory. Take it or leave it, the guy that was supposed to be next is Lashley. Lashley dominated Swerve and MVP has built him as this unpinnable guy. But Lashley ain’t taking pins.

This reign however is having a myriad of problems, but the biggest one is that four of his current marquee matchups are hurt. Swerve, Ospreay, Omega, and Jay White being injured or on an on and off schedule are hurting interest. Fortunately for Hangman, people like him enough regardless.

And that is the issue on AEW booking his title reigns. His first title reign was an issue of no one who AEW was pushing at the time(ex-WWE guys) wanted to do jobs for Hangman. The only guys he could get were Adam Cole and Bryan Danielson. And before Mox could get him more heat, CM Punk happened.

The only guys currently in this business that can do that are Ospreay and Omega, and that is because they built a resume specifically for their in-ring ability. Hangman, while no slouch at all, is a character performer. That is how he gets you to care. He aint gonna keep you invested without heat.
