The American people support laws that protect our air, food, land, and water—they deserve balanced testimony that includes non-industry scientists and public health advocates.

These chemical industry executives and lobbyists are expected to tell US lawmakers how environmental protections supposedly stifle innovation in research, but what they really mean is that it stifles their bottom line.

While Congressional hearings sometimes present one-sided views, it is not best practice. The only perspectives that will be represented on Thursday will be from corporations that stand to benefit from TSCA deregulation. ↘️

TSCA requires EPA to determine if existing or new chemicals should be regulated (banned or limited) or if they pose no unreasonable risk to the public.

To counter the Trump administration's ongoing assault on science and public health, we need courageous scientists to follow the lead of groups like @ameracadpeds.bsky.social and @cidrap.bsky.social and ensure that the best available science remains accessible to the public.

RFK Jr. must go. Our nation needs a qualified scientist to lead the agency entrusted to keep us all safe and healthy, not an anti-science, misinformation-peddling conspiracy theorist.

We’ve said it since the beginning: RFK Jr. is unfit to lead the federal agencies responsible for protecting our health.

It is unacceptable that more infants and young children will almost certainly suffer from life-threatening and preventable disease as the consequences of this dangerous decision unfold over the coming months and years.

Even Senator Bill Cassidy, a doctor who cast the deciding vote to confirm RFK Jr., says that the decision was “based on no scientific input.”

Congress must remain steadfast in its commitment to the rule of law and the Constitution so the United States remains a nation of the people, by the people, and for the people. We can’t forget what happened on #Jan6th, 2021, nor the president’s ongoing abuses of power.

In just the last few days, President Trump further demonstrated his authoritarian tendencies and contempt for the US Constitution by invading Venezuela without congressional authorization and in defiance of international law.
