🧵3/4 last we sequenced and assembled nanopore genomes for some isolates and found long read sequencing increased genome size by 15.0–17.3 Mb (!!!) including some interesting repetitive content

🧵2/4 we also evaluated temperature dependent growth and found while both groups grow faster in warmer conditions, environmental isolates have greater variability in their phenotypes

🧵1/4 We investigated molecular diversity and endosymbiont status in environmental and clinical R microsporus. We found that clinical isolates are more closely related, and come from a more diverse environmental population that more frequently harbors bacterial endosymbionts
