People need to stop being insecure about the length of their messages/emails. Sometimes one phrase is enough and that's gonna be better than sending 3 paragraphs of nothing

LLM writing grates on me, I hate it. but for a lot of people, it's better at outputting a particular academic/workplace-appropriate style than they are. we don't just need to push back on AI, we need to push back on the ideas about what's desirable in text

Default CE strips have a minimum 3500 W capacity, but in the US it can be as low as 1000 W
January 23, 2026 at 6:35 AM
The UK doesn't use 120v so it's probably fine, just check the capacity of the power strip before you plug anything drawing a lot of power

In the EU the capacity in watt is stamped on the strips, probably the same in the UK

They don't have a fuse as the circuit breaker is rated for the same amount (16A for outlets).

But you can get one with a fuse or/and a thermal fuse if needed

I've never encountered a power strip rated for less than 3680 watts here in France, that's the max power you can get on a 16A breaker without tripping it
January 22, 2026 at 9:47 PM
Power strips are rated for a certain amount of power, it's usually written on the underside of it
And that also depends on the country's regulations, I'm not sure I ever encountered one that can handle less than 3680 watt here (France)

Linux is already in use in some administrations.

And no, US weapons systems don't have backdoors, that's a citation needed claim

They'll basically shoot themselves in the foot as all governments would switch to EU alternatives and they lose the market in the long run

Why would Europeans know who Chuck Schumer even is ?
Bernie Sanders is known outside of the US but not Schumer.
