Yeah I'm assuming anybody who voted for trump supports this. And if they don't they gotta get vocal and admit they fucked up, none of this "I didn't vote for this" shit... but on election day at least, the majority of the people in that district either supported this or didn't care enough to show up

I agree with you. *I* do. But the voters in Washington's 3rd district are ok with it. The problem isn't the politicians, it's the people. But that's a much harder problem to address than blaming the politicians... we can't easily primary half the country...

I'm guessing she doesn't represent YOU though... she represents a bunch of (mostly) moderates/conservatives in her district. They don't want a Mamdani type, they barely wanted a moderate democrat... and if it's hard right vs hard left, they'd choose hard right...

He definitely did but I think this message is for the people who think shit has gone TOO FAR now. Which is an acceptable, if naive, position in my eyes. I could coexist with Republicans in the past. I can't coexist with maga. Going back to Reagan is better than continuing down the maga path...

I don't think deportation is the goal here. Round up all those "POWs" and put them in camps like the Japanese in WWII. Hey since we can't send them home to a country we're at war with lets call them work camps instead. We rounded them all up at their jobs anyway, we know what they're good at!

Yeah... I think it's quite likely he knew he'd be executed the instant he was deported to Afghanistan (as trump was already trying to do to the Afghan refugees BEFORE this happened) and he just snapped.

I've heard that wasn't nearly as common as the Nixon administration wanted everyone to believe. This was when the Republicans started convincing working class dudes to vote against their own interests, by linking the Dems to the most extreme anti-war protesters... start of the culture war basically.

I was just reading about the My Lai massacre a few days ago... it's so depressing how hard they tried to cover it up, and those in charge now are cut from the same cloth. I'm so thankful both Kelly and Gallego are fighting the good fight for us...

I think some say this because for YEARS the loud "Christians" have been the assholes using religion to control people, and the real Christians have been quiet. The shit going on now has been pushing a lot of those good Christians to action, making us realize the loud ones are actually an anomaly...

THAT'S WHAT I'VE BEEN SAYING!! Look we don't have to TRUST her but my god, let's at least LISTEN to her! And offer her some kind of immunity or protection if she jumps ship, that's a price I think most would be willing to pay for her intel...

Thank you for this, I've been learning about a lot of stuff like this. Tracing back how far it goes... I watched a documentary on the Hard Hat Riot the other day, that's a good point in time to study cuz it's kinda when the Republicans convinced the working class to vote against their own interests

"Democrats and immigrants are the cause of your problems" is a relatively easy lie to convince people of (unfortunately). "You're happy now and everything has gotten better" is a much, MUCH harder lie to convince people of.

I don't really care if it's genuine, can you IMAGINE the dirt she's got on them? We don't need to trust her but we should offer to protect her so she can spill her guts about what's going on behind the scenes.
