Happy to get a visit from a past student (class of 2010) who is now working as a physician's assistant in intensive care. The kids are alright!

This is a helpful guide for students new to the publishing game. A step-by-step guide to getting your manuscript across the finish line, from start to finish.

I appreciate how it doesn't assume hidden curriculum and is informed by the author's experience with English not being his first language.

🚨Big news🚨

A Pocket Guide to Scientific Writing and Publishing is out🎉

This is the book I wish I’d had 20 years ago — short, practical, and designed to help researchers write & get their papers published

I hope it helps many
Please share with anyone who might benefit!

Pro tip for writers:
Read your text out loud when you're done with your paper. you'll catch lots of errors.

Even better (updated 2025!): Use your computer 🖥️ to read it to you, and you sit and take notes. You'll catch even more🔥

Yesterday I did an outreach activity that was one of my most impactful ever:)
It was the UH STEMZone event for school kids

I talked about mycorrhizas, and I had students looking at actual mycorrhizal root tips in longleaf pines 💚

Students got excited about mycorrhizae💕🍄!
