Masdevallia velifera (Rchb.f 1874) a welcome distraction on a stormy day. This 'Veiled Masdevallia' is native to the cloud forests of 🇨🇴 . For me, the malodorous fragrance is only really discernable when the blooms first open #Orchidaceae

Stelis cypripedioides, a warm growing miniature orchid from Ecuador and Peru (350 - 1000m). Successive flowers form, the lower synsepal looks like a tiny lady's slipper/Cypripedium pouch. Older blooms were imaged with a UK five pence coin for scale #Orchidaceae
