❓ How can AI help us understand Alzheimer's risk?

Discover how Prof Valentina Escott-Price's team are paving the way in using AI methods to predict Alzheimer's risk on a large scale.
Prof Valentina Escott Price's team used AI to identify new Alzheimer's risk genes. Find out more on the next image The risk of developing Alzheimer's is determined by thousands of small contributions from our genes, along with environmental and lifestyle factors Traditional statistical studies often look at one gene at a time - so the team tested whether AI could more effectively pinpoint risk genes The AI method identified all the important genetic markers previously found, and even six new genetic regions, offering fresh direction for research.
