A needle gauge also helps! Sometimes factories don't even bother printing the size on the needles/hooks XD In a pinch, a ruler or some calipers work too.

Same, I'm a sock person too XD right now I have to take it easy because my tendons said NOPE a couple of weeks ago and I had to take a break! But once I'm fully back in the saddle, I'll make some kick ass socks :3
