A large portion of Jude Smith's dissent appears to be ad hominem - not only maligning Judge Brown, but also the expert witnesses in this case. I don't have much experience reading legal opinions, but this doesn't seem very "judicial."

Not directly responsive to the original point, but this excerpt from the article seems like a great wedge to drive between Musk and Trump. I wonder if Musk's thin skin would let him accept being called "stupid" by Trump.

It's about 23% as of 2023 according to BLS data. (fred.stlouisfed.org/graph/?g=1NULk - select "Download" to get the data in tabular form)

Any slowdown in growth is likely more attributable to the financial crisis than Obamacare (see chart - other countries show the same pattern). The gap in cost of healthcare in the US vs. comparable countries is still growing. This doesn't seem like "lying" to me.

Trump's dumb to pitch it this way. Bird flu has hit Turkey prices hard - so not his fault, but costs are definitely not down.

The problem is that it hasn't yet hit where it really matters - the Tesla stock price. I think the time will come, but maybe not while Trump is still in power.

Hmm - using Sadiq Khan as an example is suspect, but reading the opinion, I don't think his religion or ethnicity is any part of the argument. This is more railing against a leftist approach to government. The author has written other anti-Labour (the party) articles in the Telegraph.

Here's the methodology.

I count 12 paragraphs on Mamdani, 9 on Cuomo. 4 of the Cuomo paragraphs are essentially - "he has experience". The other 5 are basically vague handwaving like "he'll prioritize building" or "he'll control expenses". The screenshotted paragraph pretty well sums up their argument.

Because of this. Median wages are *more than* keeping up with inflation. Chart is of inflation-adjusted median wages. (Trump's policies are endangering this, but this hasn't yet come to fruition).

From the press release:

Down considerably, yes, but maybe not to 1/4 of that. Provisional numbers show around 40K (trailing twelve months) as of September 2025, down from a peak around 78K. Trump's still not far off on the overall scale.

Here's an older chart from the CDC showing overdose deaths due to Illicitly Manufactured Fentanyl (the grey line) spiking to over 70K per year by 2023. (link to source page: nida.nih.gov/research-top...)

Why does the Oval Office fireplace need whatever this is?

It's not at the top of the page, but they have a section for the protests now.

So close, but unfortunately...

There's a bit of sleight of hand going on. The documents were his own notes, and were never classified themselves. The indictment says the *information* in them was classified.

"Let's go, Brandon" is a well-known substitute for "Fuck Joe Biden", and the latter is considered vulgar.

If you read the opinion, you will see that they tackled this question and referenced Supreme Court precedent. (There's more to this argument than I quoted here - I recommend reading the whole thing).

I think for airfares it's more of case of paying *less* and getting less. The chart shows the CPI for airfares divided by the overall CPI - since 9/11 (when fares were highest), airfares are down by almost a factor of 2. (Bottom line: inflation-adjusted prices are actually down significantly)

I think the Utah study is a good one to put to Jesse (I couldn't find anything online), since it would contradict his premise. It *does* also support him in a way, in that it says that tall of the other systematic studies they reviewed did a poor job collecting studies.

I agree, but see screenshot. "Brutus" asked for one single example, which is why it was provided.
Instead of responding Brutus chose to complain about the format and when I provided a non-paywalled link responded with a "joke" that he made fun of me for not getting.

Triangulating against the Miami Herald article gives the likely answer: Kellen and Marcinkova - both named and featured in the article (www.miamiherald.com/news/local/a...)
