On the one hand, fuck having to make everything magical for your kid! On the other hand, it's really fun to see their eyes light up with they get a response from the unicorn they asked to come live with you.

I've been buffering the anticipated negativity and building up my hope and resilience over the long weekend by surrounding myself with fun, joy, sharing, participation, and wonderful people. Build your community, folks. We're gonna need it.
