Today, we played Fromage, a worker placement game making cheese. The game plays very fast. Simultaneous play with some interesting mini-games in each quadrant. #BoardGames

#BoardGames advent calendar day 23-Festive Favorites-return to an all-time favorite. Today, we played Takenoko. This is one of the first board games we were introduced to about 6 years ago.

#BoardGames advent calendar day 22-Santa’s Workshop-play a building game. Today, we played San Juan Special Edition. We just got our KS of Puerto Rico delivered, and got San Juan with it. So we had to break it out and build some buildings.

#BoardGames advent calendar day 21-Snowbound Story-play a narrative game. Today, we played Adventures of Robin Hood. In this chapter, Robin Hood and Little John rescued Alex the Blacksmith from Prince John. My favorite part of this game is the changing game board. It’s a genius design.

#BoardGames advent calendar day 19-Quick&Nimble-play a quick filler game. Today, we played Draftosaurus, a dinosaur drafting and set collection game where you fill a zoo with dinos. Perfect for a week night filler.

#BoardGames advent calendar day 18-Evergreen-play a game that withstands the test of time. Today, we played Labyrinth. A puzzly route building game where you try to create paths to treasures. This is probably the oldest game we own, from 1982 I think.

#BoardGames advent calendar day 16-Under the Tree-play a gifted game. Today, we played Great British Baking Show game, a tableau? building game based on the tv show. my husband got this as a Xmas gift last year. It’s not a very good game, imo.

BoardGames advent calendar day 15 - North Pole Dash-play a racing game. Today, we played Wacky Races, a racing game based on the old cartoon. I originally got this game for the minis, but was really happy that the game itself is really fun.

BoardGames advent calendar day 14 - Festive Feast-play a game that involves food or farming. Today, we played Downtown Farmers Market, a card drafting, tableau building game. I lost horribly, mostly because I misunderstood 2 of my scoring objectives.

#BoardGames advent calendar day 11 - Holiday Heist -play a deduction game. Today, we played Hunt a Killer:Dead Below Deck. Like most of these, we solved all the puzzles, hidden codes, etc., but still got the killer wrong because we still couldn’t put together the “clues” to make a cohesive story.

#BoardGames advent calendar day 8 -Winter’s Choice -play a game w/ a wintery theme. Today, we played Elf: Journey from the North Pole. This is a tile laying game where you lay cards to create a path from the North Pole to New York. While the board is cute, the game itself is dull and overly simple.
