We are better than this
What's dumb AF is democrats thinking that things like Palestine, a new ballroom, troops in cities, migrants treated like shit, all-encompassing graft, or due process, etc., have any effect on the daily lives of working families. They've struggled to get by for generations, while bad stuff happened

If the Democrats intend to retake power, if they ignore the nonvoter, they must realize that for fifty years, this passing power back and forth has done nothing but help the republicans. The only way to achieve a lasting political solution is to invest heavily in the one hundred million nonvoters.

For fifty years, the power has shifted back and forth evenly, yet all of the Rs fulfilled all their plans, while the Ds have accomplished nothing of note. Democrats must admit they failed miserably, and work to rebuild trust with the working families they abandoned, whether they intended to or not.

What changes the poor's and working families' lives aren't new bridges and a bunch of $12/hr jobs. Stable benefits included $25/hr jobs, maybe. Universal Healthcare, maybe. Free childcare, maybe. The firm commitment to rebuild the middle class with the wealth stolen from it by the elite, definitely.

You're confused. The nearly 100 million who don't vote don't because their lives haven't changed, regardless of which party controlled which branch for four decades. Their's is a long history of Democrats talking the talk but never willing to risk everything to improve working families' lives.

Maybe if the Democrats prioritized rebuilding the middle class for working families with the wealth they helped the republicans steal from it for four decades, the largest block of eligible voters would? Democrats need to own their failure and culpability. Stop demonizing folks who don't trust them.

What have the Democrats done for working families in the last forty years? Republicans destroyed the middle class and handed its wealth to the elite, while the Democrats helped to privatize and profitize everything in this country. Stop demonizing voters who have no reason to trust that you care.

Instead of wondering what trump is doing to bring nonvoters to the polls, maybe Democrats should think of what they can do? Anyone watching knows that the Democrats have failed working families for decades, at the same time that hate energized the GOP base. Demonizing nonvoters won't stop trump.

Working families' priority will always be their children's futures, and until we start prioritizing that, why should they vote for Democrats?
