I'm ready for a return to respectful rivalry between our birds and theirs

Aaaand that's a wrap on America, folks! It's been a great project, you should all be very proud.

“Have you given any more thought to suspending habeas corpus?”

TRUMP: “Suspending who?” 🤷🏼

Aaand scene.

Computer folk: right an algorithm that adjusts strike zone but keeps existing dimensions intact at low-90s

This is how we save pitchers' arms, encourage putting the ball in play, and fully integrate the game for men and women

Mason Miller gets a strike zone the size of a hubcap. An Eephus pitch, you HAVE to swing!
uncle-voluminous.bsky.social
Hot baseball take: I support a computer strike zone IF the strike zone changes size based on the speed of the pitch. Faster pitch, smaller strike zone. Slower, breaking stuff gets a bigger strike zone.

I've been working on two different long-form projects this year, but just know that if you're ever interested in bringing on a genre reader or class speaker etc, I am HERE & super game to discuss short stories forever!

if you've read my work, this is probably the big one:

Because it's not negotiating, it's a juggling act to distract people long enough to steal everything that's not nailed down

Stupidest negotiators in history

Hassett: "China has stopped buying US soybeans. The silos are full and there are soybeans sitting on the ground w/tarps over them. That's unacceptable to POTUS. We're calling up our soybean customers around the world as part of our trade negotiations & we'll strong policies to support our farmers"

Never let them forget: this is the Commander in Chief the military WANTED. They just didn't think he'd sound quite this dumb whenever he spoke in public.

Trump: "I said one year before to Pete Hegseth, I said, one year before -- where's Pete? In the book I wrote -- whatever the hell the title, I can't tell you -- but I can tell you there's a page in there devoted to the fact that I saw somebody named Osama bin Laden and I didn't like it."

Not a day goes by when I don't think to myself: "I love Baltimore." And I know people in DC, in Chicago, in Portland who think the same thing about the city they live in.

Americans increasingly see legal sports betting as a bad thing for society and sports

I cannot possibly imagine being the kind of person who, when faced with a long wait at an ER, chooses to blames the other sick, injured people who are also waiting
ryanmarino.bsky.social
ER doc here! This is a lie. Wait times are up because the American healthcare system is an unsustainable business model and a for-profit national healthcare system just doesn’t work. These problems will continue to get worse until we change that system. It literally has nothing to do with immigrants
atrupar.com
Vance: "If you're an American citizen & you've been to the hospital in the last few years, you've probably noticed wait times are especially large & very often somebody who's there in the ER is an illegal alien. Why do those people get healthcare benefits at hospitals paid for by American citizens?"

I work with Veterans. If I told them that they "killed people and broke things for a living" they would (rightfully) tell me to go to hell.

Those that have had to kill someone in the line of duty most often view it with sadness, regret, and one of the worst experiences of their lives.

Hegseth: "A few months ago I was at the White House when President Trump announced his liberation day for America's trade policy. It was a landmark day. Well, today is another liberation day. The liberation of America's warriors ... you kill people and break things for a living."

I started this thread in the middle of September 2025 because so much had happened this year that the media and zeitgeist had already memory holed.

Their actions aren't "countless." They aren't "unfathomable."

We can look it in the face. We can challenge it. Brave people already are.

This is super cool bc:

1) Many of the highest-risk conditions, like ME/CFS & Long Covid, aren't on the list

2) The best way to protect the vulnerable is to protect the population so others don't infect them

3) None of this accounts for Novavax which is not mRNA

Ta-Nehisi Coates has the magic words to set our too-online generation free: "Do people you *respect* say that to you?"

Be proud, people! Trust yourself! If you don't respect someone, you don't HAVE to use your platform to promote what they say.
