Notified my local council via a complaint, had them removed due to impairing drivers visability and they weren't allowed on street furniture (lampposts) under the highways act. They were down within the week

I had a friend who had one early on (he was quite well off) Used to spend many a free period in sixth form at his place playing royal rumble and Goldeneye / Perfect Dark but I didn't own one myself until at least the 2010's. Don't get the overwhelming nostalgia still hah.

I feel I live in bizarro world in the UK. There's near zero nostalgia it feels for the N64, nearly everyone around my way had a chipped PS1 and a stack of CDR's

It does feel like a tipping point is approaching. A tiny box capable of playing a crapton of existing PC titles going back decades, Sony / Xbox PC titles and Indies + emulation. Love my steamdeck and os for what it offers

The main issue with all windows based handhelds is = It's running windows. That overhead can't be overcome without serious horsepower
