Been learning about figure painting techniques from fellow collector/geeks. Wow, what a difference it makes on studio series figures! Really takes all the glorious detail and gives it a live action movie, worn steel feel. Starting with the Tereorcons of #Transformers ROTB Scorponok/Double Punch!!

I dig the design for this character/toy. The sculpt has so much of the necessary details but need deco to give it a screen accurate look. A fun weekend project: panel line, added paint detail & ToyHax sticker set treatment. Subtle additions make a BIG difference!

I’ll be honest, I cannot distinguish what I saw there from the original toy. Maybe the original didn’t have rocker ankles? Otherwise spot on. Of course, being a Herald of the Unicron Apocalypse makes us dig this figure even more!

I want to like this #StudioSeries toy (found today) but I just don’t. Too darn similar to #RiseOfTheBeasts Leader Primal. I’m sticking with appropriately larger Takara “Beast Awakening” Primal w/ 3P add-on kit as my definitive Apelinq.

I don’t remember Air Raid playing a big of a role in old TV series. Well, besides razzing Sky Dive and Slingshot when they opt to hide out in an airline hangar! He is, nonetheless an essential member of the team!

He was always the @$$hole of the team but he did learn some lessons & get better over time! All the same, I’m glad we’re getting him right off the bat, and not Alpha Bravo! ;)
He looks great in person, solid, pose-able and show accurate. A must have for me!
