i've been thinking lately about contexts in which having more options can actually introduce limitations. for example, in minecraft, you can APPROXIMATE any shape out of big cubes- but because ``stairs'' exist, you don't make a sloped roof out of cubes, you make it out of stairs-

when i read about like art nouveau or art deco or modernism i always feel a little sad that we don't have like, comprehensive generation defining artistic movements that span multiple media like that in the current day- but i wonder if historians in 100 years will see "anime" as being like that

watched wandance ep 1. personally i think if youre going to make an anime about a subject like dancing you should allocate your budget to things like 2d animation of the dancing rather than licensing the scatman music video. the girl is cute tho ig

So when people talk about n point perspective they mean each axis vanishes at a different point... I understand that now. So wtf is 4 point perspective? Where did you get a fourth axis from? Time? My life? My life vanishes at that point?

Drawing things in perspectives is soooo hard man i wish my brain would just not resolve the 2d plane it recieves from my eyes into 3d geometry then drawing would be so much easier (other things might be harder idk)
