UNISON Eastern’s regional council has made the following nomination for general secretary.
Eastern region nominated Christina McAnea for re-election as general secretary. We’ve seen how she has delivered for members in our region — growing UNISON in strength and influence. She has often visited the region to support our members’ campaigns. She has the experience, skills, and commitment to keep improving how our union works for you, not for any narrow political faction. Her pledges are clear: fight for fair pay, pensions, jobs, rights and services; put resources where you need them most, spend subs wisely; hold the government to account; and keep equality at UNISON’s heart.

👏 👏 👏 Amazing news from Dorset, where trusts have scrapped plans to chuck 1,700 staff into a subsidiary company, putting them at risk of worse pay and conditions after workers overwhelmingly backed strikes to save their jobs.
