We've added 6.5 lbs. to our pack! This is our latest adoptee, Stinkie, named not for an odor-related issue but because he's so STINKIN' cute! He moved right in like he owned the place and he gets along great with Buddy, our very protective Pyrenees. A safe and happy life awaits this little guy.

A #honeybee colony in my watermain box! I found a #beekeeper excited to add a new colony to his 16-colony farm. He emptied the hive with his bee vac&moved the honeycombs to a new bee box. In the pic, his vac is on the bottom, the bees crawling to their new home up top. They're happy and doing well!

The most purple of all my yard purples, the American Purple Beautyberry. The berries can be made into a tasty jelly but I leave them for the critters. The leaves contain a compound that repels mosquitoes and ticks. But I grow it solely for the purple. #FlowersonFriday

Now he wants nothing more than to creep down to the water's edge to lie in wait for the perfect opportunity to ambush the poor little creature. Bully. Winter color from my garden: This is the cone of a Cardboard Palm tree, which is neither cardboard nor a palm tree. After the female cones are fertilized, they ripen and break open to reveal tightly packed, glossy red seeds. Looks tasty but they're toxic to almost everything. #FlowersonFriday

When I'm not creating some new piece in my shop, I'm getting dirty in my gardens. This morning I'm harvesting avocados. My trees are still loaded with them. I'll keep a few, others go in a box on the curb for neighbors, and most will go to the local food bank for others to enjoy. #gardening
