That and all these big companies going “all in” on live service, people only have so many hours and if they play those sorts of things are most likely already invested into one of the legacy ones. Your new one better have a good selling point.

I’ve been shouting this from the rooftops for years. If you’re trying to make a new live service game it better be pretty damn convincing. Otherwise it’s just too late. Also those of us looking for truly unique and new experiences are in the minority.

The rumors were true: Electronic Arts has announced that it's sold itself in a $55 billion deal. EA sold itself to an "investor consortium" made up of Saudi Arabia's Public Investment Fund, Jared Kushner's Affinity Partners, and the private equity firm Silver Lake. EA said the all-cash deal "positions EA to accelerate innovation and growth to build the future of entertainment." EA CEO Andrew Wilson is still on board as CEO.
