If anyone would've told me a year ago that I would be drawing the way I am now, I wouldn't have believed it. Would've thought it took a lot of time and effort that I just didn't have in me.

(2/3) I woke up today and decided that he deserved to have friends, since I got real nostalgic over Peanuts yesterday.

I tend to call him a cloud because of his hair, but he also has little stars on his hoodie strings and a crescent moon which I'm progressively learning to draw the actual shape of 😆
Depending on his mood, he's usually referred to as "x cloud" such as "angry cloud" Alba.

I hesitated on sharing this for a second but I'm proud of my lad!
This is Alba, and his entire concept/being was accidentally centered around sky/planetary themes. His original hair style didn't necessarily work because I was trying to replicate his actual hair type but in the wrong way.

Alba IS a Black boy, and I knew it from the beginning but as I was caught in learning how to draw him and all - I gradually began to uncover more pieces about him (the sky symbolism, the moon and stars, his cloudlike hair) etc.
This is so lovely, and here he is!

Morning! For my #lorearts practice, I decided to draw a couple more of Alba to get used to his mini design now. I think I'm sold on the colors, the design for his hoodie (although drawing that moon consistently will be hard). His hair still gives me troubles so I might try simplifying it further but

Okay! I have to speed run but my partner pretty much reminded me that I'm on a deadline and I've gotta figure out a way that's easy for me to draw Alba for comics but also conducive to my idea for him - so here's what I got!
He's a little messy but tbh I'm just glad that he's made!

Alright, for the end of #lorearts practice today - we have.. Alba in ghibli style! I'm still not sure how I want to draw him for the comics but this feels like I'm on the right track. Ghibli has been a part of my life for as long as I can remember, and I'm inspired by so many different things
