Amaryllis (Hippeastrum) need cool weather for proper blooms (45F to 55F). If you are in Omaha the next few nights might be a bit too cold - bring them in for the night and take them out the next day. #NebExt

Now is the time to harvest mature green tomatoes. Tomatoes do not need sunlight to ripen. Wrap in newsprint and store in a cardboard box (I only had the green tub for pictures). Check every few days. #NebExt

Hot! Hot! Hot! Plants will try to save water by curling their leaves. This is normal. As moderate temps return they could stay curled - again, normal. Keep soil hydrated, mulched and avoid fertilizers during high heat. #NebExt
