Snowstorm domino effects, incidentally, were what led to Kevin Harlan getting his network NBA debut in 1993. Marv Albert was supposed to call a Bulls-Pistons game, but got stuck in Washington and Harlan was summoned from the Twin Cities.
Re-racking the bottom part of tonight's announcer schedule.

The NHL had a couple of crews switch places. The NBA had even more moving parts, with exactly one of the four listed announcers on Lakers-Mavs and BOS-CHI airing on ... the ESPN app.

Happy Thursday, or Friday Eve if that sounds better.

Today marks the end of the third week of 2026. (At least in the sense that 21 days is three weeks.) I hope your New Year's resolutions are going better than mine.

There is a football game tonight in Florida. There are also other sporting events on TV tonight, of course.

Today's two NFL games are the last two of the season east of the Mississippi River, since the conference championships will be in Seattle and Denver and the Super Bowl is in San Francisco (or close to it).

Greetings and salutations. Depending on your team, today might also involve exultation or exasperation.

Oh, give me the beat, boys, and free my soul. I wanna get lost in your rock 'n' roll and drift away.

Every once in a while, you’re watching one of the games on this list, it goes to a break, and you remember that this schedule hasn’t been posted.

If there's something strange in your neighborhood, who you gonna call?

Probably not any of these broadcast crews, although I don't know the ghostbusting practices of every hamlet and dwelling.

It's always a strange feeling when the NFL regular season ends and the Sunday sports TV schedule fits on one screen again.

The NFL playoffs start today, although the early Saturday wild card game doesn't involve the Houston Texans (or any AFC South team) this year.
January 10, 2026 at 4:30 PM
Five consecutive nights with some form of playoff football starts in a little more than half an hour.

The waiting is the hardest part
Every day you see one more card
You take it on faith, you take it to the heart
The waiting is the hardest part

It’s Tuesday. There are sports on, but none of them are football, and I haven’t processed what to do about that for a while.

Now everything dies, baby, that's a fact
Maybe everything that dies someday comes back
Put your makeup on, fix your hair up pretty
And meet me tonight in Atlantic City
