In 2019,
14 000 tonnes of plastic were lost in the nature(Switzerland, OFS data).
By reducing single-use packaging, we can have a direct impact on this pollution.
Don't wait for politicians, let's act now!

Last members, the cousins called “Others” or 7

They're all those plastics that are too numerous, too rare.
They're everywhere: automotive(ABS), 3d printing(PLA)and so many others.
Theoretically recyclable but in reality never

Our latest influential member

Ps or polystyrene

This one is the annoying uncle ... He invites himself everywhere and it's hard to get rid of him.

When recycled, it gives off extremely toxic fumes, and its different forms make it complex.

No recycling

Lifespan: 200 to unknown

Already 5th member of the thermoplastic family
5 what we call polypropylene and my personal favorite

cans and some bottles, sometimes transparent, often colourfull

PP are so easy to recycle, but only 0.6% in the world, because economically not interesting :(

Lifespan: 200 years to unknown

Monday and another member of the family!

4 or LDPE for low density polyethylene

Mainly used as flexible packaging or plastic bags, it's everywhere except in our recycling chains.

Too bad, it's just as easy and convenient to recycle as HDPE...

Lifespan: 100 years to unknown

See you tomorrow )

Today we're talking about PVC
or Polyvinyl chloride

you'll find it mainly in pipes or as flooring.

Its recycling is complex and extremely toxic.
These plastics are not currently recycled, although it is possible.

lifespan: minimum 100 years...

Today, a rather famous family of thermoplastics
2 . HDPE or High-density polyethylene

You'll find this one in milk and detergent bottles.

Recycling: possible, simple and relatively economical

Service life: 100 to unknown

See you tomorrow to discover the 3rd family
