Pre-pandemic we were most of the way into printing one of those 4x8 CNC router setups. I've got the controller and printed most of the hardware. Then my brother's router fell in our laps.

Little smoked plastic window on the back of laptops, an inch square. The idea was you just set your laptop next to a matching port and you don't have to click in a cable.

Then Wi-Fi became ubiquitous.

Also, from an age with significantly less bandwidth.

Sounds like the kind of analysis you could do with a graphics card, parallelize the analysis. The expense would be in the development.

It needs ultra high framerate video though. They can do some stuff with lower frame rates, but it sounds a bit dodgy...they're guessing at number of people and gender.

It seems to me you could also discern audio at the location of the camera, from the vibrations of the sensor.
