In #Gaza, UNRWA continues education in emergencies through temporary learning spaces and distance learning.

In mid-January, over 67,000 children accessed learning activities in shelters and 296,000 children took basic literacy & numeracy classes through UNRWA’s digital learning tools.

In Occupied #EastJerusalem, both water and electricity supplies were cut to UNRWA installations in Shu’fat Camp on 27 and 28 January, as anti-UNRWA Israeli laws amended in December 2025 came into effect.

The suspension of UNRWA services to #Palestine Refugees must be prevented.

Despite ongoing restricted access and lack of safety, UNRWA’s school health program resumed essential health services for school-aged children across #Gaza in 2025.

For many #Palestine Refugees, UNRWA is the last and only resort for healthcare, from primary services to life-saving treatment and chronic disease management.

In #Lebanon, UNRWA provided around 900,000 health consultations and treated 200,000 patients through 26 health centres in 2025.

UNRWA has been vaccinating children under the age of 3, as part of the catch-up vaccination campaign in #Gaza, together with @‌who.int, @unicef.org, and partners.

From 18 to 29 January, a total of 5,818 children were vaccinated by UNRWA teams.

What is happening to UNRWA today sets a dangerous precedent for the entire international system.

If violations of UN privileges and immunities go unanswered, no international organisation or diplomatic mission is guaranteed protection.

There can be no exceptions. This must be a wake-up call.

Across January, UNRWA schools-turned-shelters in #Gaza were reportedly directly or indirectly hit, and 7 were reportedly demolished by Israeli forces, according to UNRWA’s latest situation reports.

Though a ceasefire has been in place in Gaza since 10 October 2025, bombs are still falling.

In the first half of January, UNRWA delivered safe water to around 250,000 displaced people across #Gaza.

Our teams also continued collecting waste and cleaning shelters and surrounding areas - helping over 90,000 people - as well as responding to flooding from the rain.
