I'm going to miss when Finland decommissions their last fortress islands, I get the concept is outdated but coastal batteries are just so cool.

Enormous rectangle on wheels that's all generator for the massive laser cannon. Late tech tree RTS unit.

Brazil's Antarctic station might be my favorite research station on aesthetics alone (which you should always ask people) and definitely the most Death Stranding location outside of Iceland.

Cause of the kit required to survive at altitude all the maintenance shots of the ALMA observatory look like they're from Deserts of Kharak

The B-52's radar and navigation battle station is so beautiful I bet so many of those buttons and switches have amazing clicks

The Blue Gender film is terrible but out of nowhere has a few seconds of some of the best mech combined arms combat, I get the feeling they were just desperate to do Starship Troopers: Earth Hive

The recent Vekllei post about an unarmed navy reminds me how much I like seeing military hardware for civil service. Bombers into weather researchers, APC's using their amphibious assault capabilities to rescue people in storms, nuclear missiles into satellite launchers

Obviously any cargo aircraft capable of a gun run is beautiful but the An-72P really stands out, especially in that border patrol pattern

It's incredible that Die Another Day's very specific aesthetic vision of the DPRK manifested into reality within two decades

In PLA footage from the Himalayan front you might see these nasal cannulas, it turned out they're experimenting with issuing high-altitude infantry personal oxygen generators. The next super-specific biome soldiers after the Brazilian Thorntroopers.

The Sextant Avionique first generation TopSight helmet, the sleek design intended to survive near-supersonic ejections makes it look like it's headed for a dogfight in orbit.

All the elements of the perfect subterranean military base have existed through the Cold War (Retractable cannons, aircraft hangars, docks and nuclear reactors) but tragically never been combined.

Can't wait to see what the guards on the mobile Tara Polar Station are going to look like if they're anything as aesthetic as the MOSAiC ones

Please please give us the original manga Motoko she doesn't need the Oshii grimness forever she deserves to be a bit sillier

Such an interesting beast, she was the fastest attack helicopter ever built, could fire opposite directions at the same time and the gunner seat rotated like a Star Wars turret. Flew before the first moon landing.

Gotta admit for my first experience with The Last of Us II I'm pretty enthralled, between the moments of terror this is beautiful

PLAAF just going full Evangelion for their ALBMs

Each variant of the Osprey from the original Marine Gray has been absolutely beautiful, from the Black Helicopter scheme of the spec-ops squadrons to the gleaming white of the navy cargo haulers.

It's awesome going through these old titles that never made it into a port or a remaster, Zero plays like an absolute dream

The Felo M1 might be the best shot yet at a Neo-Motocompo

Damn PCSX2 runs really nice these days, I'm playing GITS at the moment and I've got Mercenaries, Sons of Liberty and Belkan War en route, what other PS2 classics are there?

Since video games destroyed my brain one of my favorite kinds of art are functional objects that look like they'd be high-level relics, like the Gibeon Meteorite Revolver.

I knew Battletech had me from the moment I saw detailed artwork of support vehicles in a mech-centric setting
